About Pixl Haus.

Pixl Haus (pronounced Pixel House), started as my freelance graphic design business back in 2018. After graduating from college in Minneapolis with a degree in Graphic Design and a few years of experience, I moved back home to the Duluth area with my wife and daughter and started this new venture.

About a year into Pixl Haus and my new design job, I got bored with design. One of my duties at work, surprisingly, was coding basic image-based emails. I found a lot of joy in that work and took it to the next level, building out an entire email design and development system. Eventually I was able to transition my role within the company and became an Email Developer.

After some time as an Email Developer, I found myself bored again. I handed off my production work to a coworker and focused more of my time on marketing technology and technical problem solving.

Around this time I also transitioned my freelance business from design to web development. I was building websites, maintaining them on retainers, and fixing technical issues for clients.

Eventually, I moved on again with my career, wanting to do more. I started work at a couple places as a Lifecycle Marketing Manager where I was running an email program end-to-end. Strategy, copy, design, development, deployment, analytics, and everything in between.

Now I'm taking my years of experience, varying skillsets, and desire to help small businesses, and putting together this site as a resource to help people with everything from websites to design to eCommerce to marketing technology and more.
